Research Process
STEP 1 — Identification
To trace an individual the first step is to establish who they are. This may sound obvious but unless the person has a really unusual name, there will be many people with the same one. Middle names, dates of birth, last known address and names of family members will all be used to locate the correct person of that name.

- General Records Office
- Parish records
- Wills, Grants and Divorce papers
STEP 2 — Address
High success rates can only be achieved by having experienced researchers and access to the right data. Our research team use multiple systems from leading data providers, cross checking information to reinforce the findings.

- Address Records including Electoral Role & Mail Redirection
- Marketing and Other Public Databases
- Library
STEP 3 — Investigation
If step 2 is unsuccessful the next step is for our friendly researchers to talk to friends, family or neighbours to see where the person might have moved to. This can be especially helpful if the person has moved out of the area or overseas.
International data can be accessed directly from the UK or through our network of overseas researchers.
STEP 4 — Internet
Social networks and the Internet in general offer a wealth of information for professional researchers. We’ve located individuals on popular sites like Facebook and LinkedIn but also travel sites documenting world trips and even those serving at her Majesties pleasure.
STEP 5 — Verification
Before you receive the results the person will be contacted first and asked for their permission to release information to you. This ensures the details you receive are 100% accurate, up-to-date and appropriate.
Should the person not initially want their details released, you will receive a free mailbox service whereby you can write to the person via our head office.
