STEP 1 — Identification
The first step to tracing an individual is to find out who they are. This might sounds obvious but unless it is a really unusual name, there will likely be many individuals with the same name. Dates of birth, last known address or names of family members will all be used to help identify the correct person of that name.

- Parish Records
- Wills, Grants and Divorce Papers
STEP 2 — Address
The key to maintaining high success rates is to make sure the researchers are experienced and have access to the right data sources. Our research team cross references multiple systems from leading data providers to identify an individual’s address.

- Address Records including Electoral Role & Mail Redirection
- Financial Records
- Marketing and Other Public Databases
- Library
STEP 3 — Investigation
If the address search does not yield a result, the next step is for our friendly researchers to talk with friends, family or neighbours to obtain a new contact details or if not, point us in the right direction. This can be a really useful approach particularly if the person has moved out of the area or overseas.
Some overseas data is accessible direct from the UK, for the rest we have an international network of researchers who understand their local language and systems. In some jurisdictions only someone present in the country can conduct a search or obtain documents.
STEP 4 — Internet
The internet and social networks offer an abundance of resources for professional researchers. We’ve traced individuals through major sites like LinkedIn and Facebook, on travel blogs documenting world trips and even those serving at her Majesties pleasure.
STEP 5 — Verification
Before you receive the results the person will be contacted first to ensure the information is 100% accurate and up-to-date, corroboratory questions will be asked to confirm it is the right person of that name.

Fixed Cost — No Success No Fee
If our fee is to be paid by a solicitor (from the estate or trust) then we will conduct the trace first and send an invoice once completed successfully. Otherwise payment is required in advance and we will refund the fee in full should the trace be unsuccessful.
